A1150 2006 Macbook pro 10.6 USB Installer VMWare WS

To get a Macbook Pro A1150 running with a new operating system when it is corrupt or the password is lost, you can wipe out the hard drive and install without using a DVD installer. If you are missing the grey installer dvd from the original packaging and or cannot find your retail disc, use the following with a PC to build a new USB installer key:

snowleopard_10a432_userdvd.dmg (10.6 retail)
Windows 8.1 (or 8/7)
VMWare Workstation 10.0.1 build-1379776 (10.x+ works, match unlocker for version and os)
Unlocker for VMWare WS, 1.10 or above (it is up to 2.x now for 10.10 and 10.11 OS X)
OS X 10.8.2 VM Image (2 proc, 10-20gb hd, 2-4gb ram for settings for VM)
usb 2.0 for most motherboards (unless kext is installed for os x usb 3.0 and VMWare supports usb3.0 in the future)
usb key 8gb+ in size (worked with sandisk cruzer glide 128gb 3.0)
macbook A1150 with working USB2.0 port and HDD functioning (full HDD erase in install)

Start VMWare Workstation
Install or Copy and Move the Virtual Machine (VM) 10.6.x snowy or 10.8.2 if you have it / find it
connect your usb key to your pc
on the bottom of VMware Workstation right click and connect the key to the mac VM and disconnect from pc (technically but keep the key in physically)
share your hard drive with advanced sharing in the pc side
connect with FINDER to the pc with SMB://PCNAME
use your windows name and password on your pc
open your shared drive on the pc, find the .DMG and drop it onto your desktop of the VM os x system from finder
run DISK UTILITY in the finder > applications > utilities > disk utility
Restore at the top
drop the dmg file icon into the SOURCE
drop the usb key icon into the destination
when complete drop the usb key icon in the trash to dismount the UBS file system and keep it safe from the claws of os x
physically disconnect the usb key from the pc
turn off the macbook pro, and plug in the usb key on the top left side of the housing
turn it on with the OPTION key held down
choose the OS X installer you just made
install as normal
