So, I wondered what could be going wrong that firefox standard works, but the developer edition, 44.0a2 (2015-12-14) to be specific, was crashing every time I selected text and pressed CTRL+C. What could it be? A plugin, a flag in about:config that messes up in the dev mode? Something else that does SLI display things in my multi gpu system? wait? What? multi... ah, yes, in options I turned off one thing and restarted firefox developer edition, and it works again, no crashing while CTRL+C...
goto TOOLS > OPTIONS
and UNCHECK this:
Code: Select all
Enable multi-process Firefox Developer Edition
then restart, your firefox developer editon shouldn't crash while copying things with shortcuts anymore. So many possibly reasons why... but this is a fix. for now.
the regular firefox browser on the same pc with the same configuration and addons & extensions works fine with CTRL+C. It is the multi-process that has a bug with it for some underlying reason.
