The do-it-yourself approach works a lot in current times for many actors. Sometimes agencies are a dime-a-dozen and don’t do more than collect 15-20% of your background or small project income promising you A-List actor work. This is false for the great hard working agencies out there, but if you work hard on our own, you will find out about those agencies because you will be wanted with your body of acting work. Here is a list of free and paid for Acting Listings which have commercial, voice over, theatre, print, feature film, tv, background and lead/supporting work.

Casting Networks
http://home.castingnetworks.com/
In the United States and especially NYC and surrounding areas, this is a no brainer for the beginner model and to be actor. $25 to join and $7-10 a month for unlimited submissions. Add more $6 for 50 max pictures and $6 more for an area to load 25-50mb compressed videos and audio media files to your portfolio and you will certainly get work monthly if not more if you keep on it. Make sure to add all your abilities and interests, pics, and submit as much as possible. I get around 200-300 a day from CN and apply maybe 5-20 times a day when I feel it is right. You get a lot of no responses and auditions that lead to nothing, but it is leagues better than free sites or craigslist etc.
Actors Access
http://actorsaccess.com/
Actors access is littered with great jobs for the beginner actor and most are paid. Many have tight schedules and are very imposing in the income level, but still very much worth the $68 for 2017 and unlimited submissions. Caveat here, each additional image is $10 per after the first 2 with your account, and video is around $10/minute that they have to review first. This is a good thing. This makes actors access level 2 or mid range if you would for an actor’s self submission world.

Backstage
http://www.backstage.com/
Backstage has a lot of clout because of it’s name and the publication in prior decades. It is filled with good jobs and many not so good jobs. It is buyer beware here basically. It has a lot of the same listing that casting networks has, but has more theatre and other fields you can work for as well. Backstage is more expensive $144 or so for a year, maybe less with a coupon or online deal. It is worth it, you can use all of your youtube and soundcloud links for your portfolio for free and there is a large area for all your images for acting.

IMDBPRO
https://pro-labs.imdb.com/
IMDB lists lots of movies and tv shows, which is great, but not all aspects of acting. IMDBPRO basically is a pay per year now you can put your images and video up deal. They also list a lot of B-List acting roles, which is maybe the 2nd or 3rd tier of the be your own agent style tool. They allow 180 or so images, links to youtube for your acting reels, and you can submit right on tv shows and films for your role played.
Beware, they make a lot of mistakes and remove a lot of valid roles at times, and you have to go through a serious process to keep some of your work up from my experience, but it is a very valuable sharing tool and casting tool to have your name up and your work. It is in a sense a validation in a false world of marketing.
